Painter X. Commission.
Concept: Sauron and Maglor. Based on a Lord of the Rings fanfic. As Sauron's prisoner, Maglor plays the harp until his fingers bleed. This painting took a very long time. Partly from other work obligations getting in the way, and partly from my often obsessive/compulsive nature when it comes to my art. Not that I don't put care into my other artwork, but this one for some reason was 'special' and there was always something more that needed to be done to it, for it to be 'right'. I still can find things to touch-up or tweak, but the poor girl would never get her commission at that rate and I can always find something in my work that needs "just a touch more" Here's the link to the fanfiction the illustration was based on, just in case anyone's interested. As to the black hair, in the fanfiction Maglor's hair was described as red, so I was trying to true to that.
Btw, I've edited the description to include the link to the fanfiction. Be warned it's really really dark.

As for Macalaure, I always imagined him with hair black as the darkest night... And grey/blue eyes. This guy looks more like Amras... Still, it's a nice concept art, even if you follow a different idea
